How I Started Blogging

All these years I was trying to find myself, at least something that I’m good at. I have no talent– I was just an average girl like the others.

I can’t sing, can’t dance, can’t draw, can’t even play a musical instrument well. Tried performing arts but I was never good enough. I have no sports too. When I heard about blogging back in 2009, I gave it a try.

Starting up a blog back then was pretty expensive for me. I came from an average family with a simple lifestyle. If I want something, I need to work hard for it. By working hard means– I need to be on the top of the class. If I get to be on the list, my medal is equivalent to one item of choice as a reward. Having little resources didn’t stop me there from pursuing a blog.

With my little allowance as a high school student, I spare some coins so I can go to the nearest internet cafe. My blog was born via Tumblr. It was all about my teenage drama, rants, and personal views in life. Pretty much random stuff. It was too personal and self-destructing so I had to stop it. It’s just about time to give way since I’m entering college.

It was in my junior year when I knew it was a requirement to have a blog for my Desktop Publishing Class. I was so excited that even if the class hasn’t started, I tried familiarizing myself with WordPress. I thought maybe I can start up a blog again! Still, with little resources, I had to share with the family-owned laptop with a prepaid internet connection at home, thus pursuing the hobby that I love.

I started documenting some of my outfits because of my love for bargain hunting. It took me at least six months before I was able to establish a good blog traffic. After almost a year, I finally landed on my first sponsorship from an online shop in Instagram and from then on, it evolved into what it has become today.

Fame was never in my mind and never will be my objective.

I’m blogging because I want to create an online representation of myself and to get to share my experiences and stories in life– such as how I started blogging. I am very proud of what my blog has brought in for me. Living a simple and average life didn’t stop me from pursuing my dreams and doing things that I’ve always wanted to do.

By the time I graduated from college, I never asked from my parents anymore. Slowly, with my hard-earned cash I’m working hard for myself year after year, purchasing all the items I need– no credit card and debt-free life. This is the lifestyle that I’m most proud of!
